Best Dressed Arch or House

It is now a well established tradition that members of the Court decorate their house frontages on Gala Day.  Over the years we have seen more traditional arches while others decorate their whole house front.  As these two styles differ greatly, we have split the category and can enter either a best dressed arch or a best dressed house.

Judging of the entries will commence at 8.30 am with the results being announced either at the Crowning Ceremony or during the afternoon programme.  An application form needs to be submitted to take part.  These will be handed out nearer the time.

We also have a category for the Best Dressed Street!

Dress Code

Girls

All P7 girls will be required to wear a white outfit. Traditionally this has been a LONG dress and P1 girls a white KNEE LENGTH dress with white shoes or sandals but we are happy if they would prefer another outfit.  If desired a small tiara can be worn.

We request that girls wear as close to white as possible to ensure everyone is dressed in the same shade and avoids anyone being upset on the day.

Boys

All boys will be required to wear a kilt (with exception of champion who wears tartan trousers).  Kilt hire is organised by the committee and is from Caledonia Scotia Kilts and will cost £35 + £5 deposit (should an adult kilt be required cost will be around £45).

If you prefer, children can wear their own kilts, but we ask that you ensure your child will be comfortable in a tartan that is different to everyone else, to avoid anyone being upset on the day.
